Erin and Victor traveled from Malibu, California to Hilton Head, South Carolina for their wedding celebration and I am so happy they found me!  It was such a pleasure getting to know these two and a real honor to capture all of their precious memories throughout the day.  They had to move the ceremony one day forward to Monday (!) since guests traveling from the West Coast were having travel complications due to the threat of Hurricane Irene.  Despite the challenges, Erin and Victor kept their composure and enjoyed a perfect day at a private beach house that goes by the name “Yellow Dog”  shared with some of their closest friends and relatives.  The weather could not have been more glorious.  As the sun shone bright upon this beautiful couple, we all felt the warm Carolina sea breeze on our skin and  breathed in the salty ocean air.  The day was organized by the super talented and sweet Leah McCarthy of Weddings With Leah and catering was provided by Downtown Catering + Events.  I have to say, they provided some of the most creative, colorful and beautiful dishes that I have seen yet at a wedding.  Not your typical fare.  Victor’s Uncle, Robert, put a lot of work into designing the menu and Erin’s mother, Connie, did all of the decor with her friends from Erin’s home town. Impressive!  She selected and ordered ALL the flowers, handmade the table runners, placemats, “hooray” wands, did every single flower arrangement, including table arrangements and all the torches heading to the ceremony, found and purchased the big vases at the alter, did all of the sea-themed garland and E&V decor throughout the ceremony…EVERYTHING!  She is crazy, crazy talented and has very loving girlfriends who helped her do the leg-work.  I know Erin was truly thankful for her mother’s loving effort.  Also, Victor’s grandmother, Cheri, hand painted their invitations and the artwork on their programs.  I love that this event was truly personal and they had so much support from loved ones.  Victor mentioned that the West Coast is not blessed with sea oats like we have here so I captured that difference in some of their portraits so they can always remember where they were on their special day.  I secretly wish Erin and Victor lived on the East Coast.  They are lovely people who I would enjoy spending more time with!  Congratulations on finding each other and may your lives be full of joy and laughter!  (Also special thanks to all of the wonderful vendors who made this day happen – Joy Ross of Style It SalonSignes CakeThe Tent Factory, and Deas-Guyz band.)
