Liz and Gervais are getting married in the Abaco Bahamas this weekend!  I absolutely cannot wait to take pictures of their sweet destination wedding. Aren’t they just the cutest!?

I’m just dying to finish editing AnnaKathryn and Ryan’s INCREDIBLE wedding at RiverOaks. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy seeing their really fun engagement session at The Citadel. I just love these two and even got a few shots of AnnaKathryn’s wonderful family who came to the first part of our shoot.  There are plenty more images coming soon from AnnaKathryn’s bridal session and their lovely wedding.  Really, you’ll have to keep checking back on the blog because you won’t want to miss seeing all the details from their wedding.  It was truly incredible, like a fairytale!!

Ryan was on the football team at The Citadel and was able to get these jerseys to represent their wedding date – May, 26th.  Isn’t this cute?!

Where do I even begin with these two . . . some of my favorite people on the planet . . . and one of my favorite engagement sessions ever! Heather and I go way back. We grew up going to Sullivan’s Island Elementary school together and reunited again in high school at Ashley Hall.  I always thought she was just the coolest and although we may have overlapped in Boulder, Colorado without even knowing it, we lost touch for several years. It wasn’t until she moved to Savannah to attend Savannah College of Art and Design while I was a photojournalist for the Savannah Morning News that we truly connected again, as if fate was determined to keep us in each other’s lives.  Boy was I lucky to have her there and we grew to be close and fast friends.  Through all this, I got to witness the beginning of her relationship with Brandan and her excitement over this incredible guy was blindingly evident from the start.  Before too long, he moved to Savannah to be with her and start his residency. They were like two of the cutest peas in a pod I’d ever seen . . . so happy together with a light and playful energy that shined as bright as the stars in the sky.  One of my favorite experiences with these two was playing dress up and celebrating the new year together in San Francisco, a place near and dear to their hearts. It’s where they met and where Brandan returned with her to propose.  The images below were taken at Brandan’s family land in Chattanooga, TN . . . complete with an antique barn that is a dream for any photographer, or at least this photographer!  The backdrop suited them perfectly, as their wedding will also take place in the mountains (of North Carolina) this summer, with a very different but equally special and photogenic barn.  Check out Heathers design studio, Patch, to see how incredibly creative she is.  With ideas like these I can’t wait to see what neat details will appear at her wedding!  I’m unbelievably blessed for the opportunity to capture their wedding memories and I love these guys tremendously. I just know you will too!  Enjoy!

Emily and Lucas have a love story that most everyone dreams of when they are little girls and boys.  Really, it’s straight out of a movie.  They met each other in high school and the first thing Lucas said to his friends when he saw Emily was “I am going to marry that girl one day!” ( no joke ).  That was over 16 years ago and now his words are coming true.  Toward the end of our shoot you will notice an interesting slide. This is where it all began . . . the special spot where these lovebirds used to steal kisses as teenagers.  I can’t write enough wonderful words about these two and I admire their love, their creative spirits and their unique style.  Emily teaches Spanish and is an artist. As you will see through her paintings, she’s a very talented one. . . truly gifted!  Lucas works at Boeing but also has a wood working business with a friend and their work can be found here.  You’ll see how incredibly adorable these two are together in the images below.  I feel blessed that I am able to document and be a part of so many of my friend’s most special events in life and I am incredibly honored that Emily and Lucas asked me to photograph their wedding this fall.  I know it will be beautiful and, knowing Emily, full of neat, personal, creative details.  I can’t wait!

I just love Mollie and Walsh’s engagement session…it’s one of my favorites!  We had a ball and it was so much fun working with their adorable personalities! I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, kind and fun couple to work with.  I can’t wait for their wedding next May!  Congratulations Mollie and Walsh!

These are my favorites.  I love love love these!!!

Rachel and John are the sweetest couple ever.  They drove up from the Savannah area for their engagement session and brought along their dogs, Wriggly and Tybee.  These dogs are super loved, I can tell, and it was adorable how they wanted to include them in their session!  Tybee had recently recovered from surgery but is a very strong pup and a real trooper!  I worked with Rachel’s mom at the Savannah Morning News when I was a full time photojournalist and am thrilled that they thought of me when it came time for Rachel’s wedding.  I already feel like I have known these two forever and can’t wait for their wedding in May!! It’s going to be so beautiful!  Their love for one another shines bright as the sun and reminds me how lucky I am to be able to capture such beauty!  Congratulations Rachel and John!!

I laughed when Mary and Dan told me the story of how they got engaged.  While on vacation in Florida during Mary’s birthday weekend, she was convinced by Dan that it would be a while before he would propose.  After a nice dinner he took her to a beautiful condo on the water.  When they got there, he realized they forgot to put the parking pass in the car.  How convenient.  Mary was not thrilled to have been chosen for this task but Dan had a plan.  He seized the opportunity.  He had the champagne . . . he had the music . . . he had the ring.  On one knee, he waited . . . and waited . . . and waited.  He had no Mary.  He finally gave up and put it all away. Mary had been waiting, too. She had been locked out of the condo.  Once reunited, he tried again.  She said YES!  I was thrilled to meet these two in Savannah for their engagement session and had a wonderful time with these lovebirds!  I can’t wait for their wedding!

Marissa and Robert drove to Charleston from Atlanta for their engagement session so that they can enjoy looking at scenes from the lowcountry in their photographs for years to come.  I don’t blame them!  Luckily, the weather was perfect and this beautiful couple had no problem hiking around Folly Beach to find several perfect locations.  Both are avid runners and it shows.  In fact, Robert ran track at the University of Georgia and is super humble about it. I love this couple and am super excited to photograph their wedding in September.  Congratulations Marissa and Robert!
