I’m over the moon excited and completely honored to share my first wedding published in print! The new Charleston Weddings Magazine, Summer 2012 issue. You may remember the wedding I photographed last May for Carrie and Jonny. Carrie is one of the most creative, design conscious people I know and I believe she met her match with Jonny. Their incredible wedding vision came to life thanks to Ooh Events, who did an amazing job bringing it all together. I’m so glad their story has made it onto the pages of one of my very favorite wedding magazines to provide wonderful inspiration for all those newlywed couples out there!
Click HERE to see my original post of their wedding day and HERE to see their engagement session. Be sure to pick up a copy of this gorgeous magazine because . . . boy oh boy, do Carrie and Jonny look good in their 8 page spread! 8 pages!!!
While Lexi grew up in Charleston, she had to go out to Wyoming to find her Michael and lucky me they are back in Charleston with an adorable little 6 1/2 month old Eva to photograph. I couldn’t wait to get them in front of my lens and now I can’t wait to share these sweet images with you. Isn’t she just the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? Eva was amazing to work with and didn’t let out a single cry or sad face during our whole shoot . . . actually not even a peep unless it was a giggle followed by an adorable little smile. It was so fun to photograph Lexi and her gorgeous family and I look forward to watching Eva grow into a beautiful person (inside and out) like her momma and daddy! I hope these baby portraits warm your heart and brighten your day!
It was such a joy getting to know Mary and Dan throughout their lovely wedding journey . . . quite possibly the sweetest couple I’ve ever met. We had a really great time running around Savannah for their engagement session last summer (click here to see those images) and it was so much fun going back again for their wedding ceremony at Trinity Methodist Church, the oldest Methodist Church in Savannah. I just loved the bright and cheerful blue color of the bridesmaids dresses and A to Zinnias did an amazing job with the flowers. The whole feeling of their wedding was just so fresh and fun . . . not to mention Mary looked absolutely gorgeous and unbelievably sophisticated in her beautiful gown! Rain didn’t hold us back. They always say it’s good luck on your wedding day and (even luckier for us) it only drizzled for a few seconds early in the day. The sun came out and shone majestically through the giant oak trees for Mary and Dan to provide a beautiful setting for portraits after the ceremony in Telfair Square. The bridal party and myself all jumped into Savannah trolleys that took us to the reception at The Mackey House. Boy, it was a windy ride but luckily all the ladies (and gentlemen) still looked stunning afterward! Once at The Mackey House, it was obvious that this couple has a million friends, a great big family and many die-hard Auburn fans who were ready to celebrate in their joy. It was such a wonderful group of people and a great time was had by all! I’d like to give a special thanks to Angela Hopper who so graciously helped me shoot, fluff, grab umbrellas, pin boutonnières – you pretty much name it – throughout the day! You are wonderful Angie!! And a HUGE thank you to Mary and Dan, the most adorable couple, for allowing me to be a part of your most special day. I hope you all enjoy looking their very own and very beautiful wedding story!
Where do I even begin with these two . . . some of my favorite people on the planet . . . and one of my favorite engagement sessions ever! Heather and I go way back. We grew up going to Sullivan’s Island Elementary school together and reunited again in high school at Ashley Hall. I always thought she was just the coolest and although we may have overlapped in Boulder, Colorado without even knowing it, we lost touch for several years. It wasn’t until she moved to Savannah to attend Savannah College of Art and Design while I was a photojournalist for the Savannah Morning News that we truly connected again, as if fate was determined to keep us in each other’s lives. Boy was I lucky to have her there and we grew to be close and fast friends. Through all this, I got to witness the beginning of her relationship with Brandan and her excitement over this incredible guy was blindingly evident from the start. Before too long, he moved to Savannah to be with her and start his residency. They were like two of the cutest peas in a pod I’d ever seen . . . so happy together with a light and playful energy that shined as bright as the stars in the sky. One of my favorite experiences with these two was playing dress up and celebrating the new year together in San Francisco, a place near and dear to their hearts. It’s where they met and where Brandan returned with her to propose. The images below were taken at Brandan’s family land in Chattanooga, TN . . . complete with an antique barn that is a dream for any photographer, or at least this photographer! The backdrop suited them perfectly, as their wedding will also take place in the mountains (of North Carolina) this summer, with a very different but equally special and photogenic barn. Check out Heathers design studio, Patch, to see how incredibly creative she is. With ideas like these I can’t wait to see what neat details will appear at her wedding! I’m unbelievably blessed for the opportunity to capture their wedding memories and I love these guys tremendously. I just know you will too! Enjoy!
Hunter! You are amazing! I still can’t believe your talent- the photographs are awesome and I’ll never forget how you made that day so special, relaxed and fun. It’s sweet to see them up!
I am sitting here with tears in my eyes. I have never seen anything as sweet, spectacular, or creative in all my life. This makes my heart so joyful; as my Mother and Father bought this property many years ago, but he passed away in 1986. He would have loved to see this! Hunter, they are just incredible!!!! I am Brandan’s Mom, and overjoyed that they found eadh other. Love to all!!!
Emily and Lucas have a love story that most everyone dreams of when they are little girls and boys. Really, it’s straight out of a movie. They met each other in high school and the first thing Lucas said to his friends when he saw Emily was “I am going to marry that girl one day!” ( no joke ). That was over 16 years ago and now his words are coming true. Toward the end of our shoot you will notice an interesting slide. This is where it all began . . . the special spot where these lovebirds used to steal kisses as teenagers. I can’t write enough wonderful words about these two and I admire their love, their creative spirits and their unique style. Emily teaches Spanish and is an artist. As you will see through her paintings, she’s a very talented one. . . truly gifted! Lucas works at Boeing but also has a wood working business with a friend and their work can be found here. You’ll see how incredibly adorable these two are together in the images below. I feel blessed that I am able to document and be a part of so many of my friend’s most special events in life and I am incredibly honored that Emily and Lucas asked me to photograph their wedding this fall. I know it will be beautiful and, knowing Emily, full of neat, personal, creative details. I can’t wait!
Em these r amazing I am so happy for u both. U both looked amazing and the happiness that u can see in each other is so beautiful. I love these pictures can’t wait to share my favorites.
I have had the pleasure of photographing Copper Penny’s show at Charleston Fashion Week two years in a row now and I must say it’s a blast to see. Not only are the models stunning but the outfits are bright, cheerful and full of vibrant, happy colors. Check out the super stylish collection of clothing, shoes, and accessories below and treat yourself to some eye-candy. My favorite is the long orange dress. If you see something you like, go on and treat yourself to some new threads at Copper Penny! You deserve it! Enjoy!
I was in New York City last week photographing corporate head shots of executives and other employees of Experian Marketing Services, a company whose fabulous events I am so fortunate to have been capturing for the past six years or so. I enjoy a wonderful relationship with this brand and look forward to a huge, three day event called the Experian Cheetahmail Client Summit each summer. If you would like to watch a video of last years event that highlights some of my photography and shows what the event is all about please click here. This year the event will be held in Las Vegas. Look out! With this blog, it is my goal to not only showcase the beautiful brides and handsome grooms that I love to work with on the weekends, but also to highlight bits and pieces of the interesting shoots I get to do in between that keep me busy. A special thanks to Alexandra Kwiatkowski for doing a fantastic job with makeup! Thanks for looking!
